Lizanne arrived to the house amid chaos and wild barking, not from Saucy but from the resident dogs who tend to greet visitors with a lot of fanfare. I guided the resident dogs into their kennels, but Saucy preferred to pace wildly, in large circles. Saucy stuck to the upstairs of the home, to the rooms most familiar to her. After brief introductions, Lizanne immediately got to work: starting the soothing music, centering her mind, and sending calming/positive energy towards Saucy. The resident dogs quieted in their kennels. Saucy positioned herself on the bed and stopped her frantic pacing. I carefully approached Saucy and offered her treats. She took them, but continued to look for escape routes. Eventually, after what seemed like an hour, Saucy settled into a dog bed on the floor (in reality it was 5 minutes and by settled I mean her usual position of sitting awkwardly in the corner with big, wide eyes). Saucy allowed me to introduce the various essential oils as Lizanne explained what each one did, and that Saucy would take what she needed. Much to my amazement, Saucy licked my hand voraciously for certain oils, and merely sniffed for other oils. Saucy seemed to need three specific oils and Lizanne left those with me to work with Saucy on a daily basis. As the effects of the oils began to work, Saucy went from her usual position, to actually laying down. Now, this is a huge accomplishment because Saucy rarely lays down, especially in the presence of people, let alone a stranger. As the session continued, Lizanne was able to move closer to Saucy and eventually start massaging her ears and performing Reiki. Saucy accepted the Reiki quite easily, the ear massage was not well-tolerated, but Saucy usually never lets strangers get close to her at all. At the end of the session, Saucy was laying down nearly 100% relaxed and he let out several big sighs. After Lizanne departed, Saucy went into a very deep sleep for several hours – something she has never done before outside of her crate. That evening I was able to take Saucy for her first EVER walk on a leash in the neighborhood! What an amazing day! All attributed to the magic Lizanne was able to work. I will admit I was skeptical, at first, but when I saw Saucy begin to relax I knew Lizanne was the real deal.
The second session, one week later, was even more incredible. The week between the sessions was a bit rough on Saucy because I was out of town. She prefers my company and gets rather out of sorts if I’m not around. When Lizanne arrived the resident dogs were already in their kennels and barked only slightly to welcome back their friend. Saucy did not pace and did not act erratic. Instead, she sat inside her kennel, with the door open, and seemed very much ok that Lizanne was there. Lizanne started the music and the energy work. Saucy accepted only one essential oil this time, and seemed to settle in much more quickly. Lizanne was able to massage Saucy’s ears, head, neck, and shoulders. I, too, was able to massage Saucy and learn the specialized massage technique, though I undoubtedly need practice. Saucy gradually settled into laying down on her dog bed and seemed to cherish Lizanne’s touch. I think I even saw a tail wag! After Lizanne left, Saucy again slept for 3 full hours, in a very deep and restful state. And, today, the day following the session, there is the most remarkable change in Saucy. I can’t even tell you the tears it brought to my eyes and the joy it brought to my heart. Saucy barked to be let out of her kennel this morning and chose to eat breakfast IN the kitchen (first time ever!!) Saucy has come up to me for affection and has wagged her tail all day! Saucy seems genuinely happy and easy going today. She has played with the other dogs and not once stuffed herself into a corner or into her kennel. I’ve never seen this side of her and it is truly fantastic. Lizanne is a miracle worker! This week we will continue to work with the essential oils and the music CD.
Prior to our third session, Saucy decided to escape the yard. She was missing for 4 nights, 5 days. Lizanne was instrumental in getting her back, and in calming me down to understand what I needed to do to bring her home safely. During the time she was gone, Lizanne employed her animal communication skills. In doing so, we learned that her real name is Mirabelle. I named her Saucers (aka Saucy) because she her eyes were always so large and wide. On the day I was reunited with Mirabelle, I took my dog along (as Lizanne suggested.) Mirabelle saw me and took off running so I yelled her real name – and she stopped, dead in her tracks, and sat down. My dog ran up to her and I was able to get Mirabelle into my car and back home.
Since her disappearance, Mirabelle has continued to improve, Lizanne visited many more times, and noted Mirabelle’s remarkable improvement each time. The essential oils, calming music, and relaxing reiki, had a wonderful affect on Mirabelle.
Many thanks to Lizanne for all of her time, dedication, and hard work! ~Darci
