Epilogue to Podcast Number 6, Season 1: A Celebration of Life Ceremony

The podcast referenced above was about when Animals transition out of their physical forms and into pure energy once again. As all beings having an experience on Earth must do at some point. After I posted it on BuzzSprout and it in turn was posted on Spotify, iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, and Stitcher under “The Animals’ iView”, another thought came forward. And one that I usually invite guardians to consider at some point after transition – a celebration of life ceremony.

Not only is this ceremony important to family members human and animal alike, it also has deep meaning for the being just recently out of physical form. Especially when it has as part of the ceremony a release back to the Earth of some kind. (The podcast speaks to how Animals can be quite specific as to the “how” of the actual transition and the planning of a ceremony afterward). Usually this consists of scattering a small portion of the cremains or burying the form and returning it back to the Earth. Sometimes if those aren’t available, another tangible item can be used. A collar, leash or favorite toy is perfect and can be buried or burned and then the ashes scattered.

For Animals everywhere, Earth Herself is a wonderful place. And they are deeply connected to Her. When we release their form back into the Earth the energy of their experience here is completed. Which they will feel wherever they are. Your soul contract with them extends beyond lifetimes and whatever you facilitate for them here they feel where they are. This happens with humans as well which is a blog post or podcast for some other time.

Releasing something physical of them or belonging to them also serves a secondary purpose of supporting the family moving through the grieving process. We tend to want to hang onto the physicality of their being. Because it’s so fabulous! It’s warm, loving, funny and so incredibly generous that we forget it’s merely a container for the light being inside. And Animals being who they are, choose to let the inside shine on the outside which confuses humans at times. We think it’s all about the outside and that’s what we miss the most.

The secret, as Animals would tell you, is that once any attachment is released to “what was” that being their physical form is when the light in you connects more directly with the light in them. For eternity if you’d like and certainly for the rest of your experience here. Which means you may have visits from them. In your dreams and sometimes even in your waking moments and out of the corner of your eyes. You may feel the weight of them jump in your lap or on your bed. You may hear the jingle of their collar or the soft meow or chirp or bark. When you release the past, the present has a significantly higher chance of showing itself to you in all of its glory. Which, of course, includes a beloved family member who will always share their energy with you even when you think they’re gone forever.
